Our history

The beginning

It was 1989, when an entrepreneur group from the educational area ventured on the computer production in Brazil during a very challenging and instable scenario. An opportunity window occurred in the country, and it was glimpsed with pioneering by the group: the personal computing demand. Therefore, a genuinely Brazilian technology brand was born. POSITIVO INFORMÁTICA was born.

The growth

For more than two decades, the focus on computing was the way to break down the barriers, conquer the market and reach millions of Brazilian homes. At that moment, the company deepens its knowledge about the Brazilian consumers - their habits, needs and desires - a natural and valuable closeness. From the schools to the Brazilian families’ homes, its products represent the most current technological devices that everyone can and wants to buy.

Current moment

Its dynamic and versatile personality, aligned to its solid respect and ethics values, bring it to the moment the company lives today:


Product diversification: The portfolio includes computers, tablets, smartphones, mobile phones and telemedicine devices, as well as equipment for schools in more than 40 countries.


Geographic expansion: Its international activity was restricted to the educational technology exportation until 2010. At that moment, taking its products to other countries became possible and, with enthusiasm and hard work, the company began to expand its operations to other countries of South America - Argentina, Uruguay and Chile - and also to the African continent, starting activities in Rwanda and Kenya. As a result, through Informática Fueguina and PBG Rwanda, Positivo becomes the only Brazilian multinational in its segment of operation.


Different brands and businesses: Technology, innovation, agility and adaptation to each market and audience. Designed for each profile, Positivo, Quantum, VAIO and Hi Technologies brands carry the success story and the entrepreneurship that envisions expansion and diversification in its trajectory. Especially in mobile devices, the movement ensures the multi-brand company status and enables to work with a complementarity portfolio to meet all the public’s profiles. Regarding the telemedicine investment, foreseeing the future, partners see the possibility of making their global devices to assist in monitoring epidemics, for example. Therefore, the pioneering that follows POSITIVO TECNOLOGIA since its foundation permeates the daily routine of the whole team. The company continues to work strongly in constant search innovation, so technology can be used to improve people's lives.


Reviewing each step of this evolution route, it was clear the expansion of its positioning. That was when we added TECNOLOGIA in our name instead of INFORMÁTICA. We are POSITIVO TECNOLOGIA and our focus is the solution it provides.
