Our history

The beginning

It was 1989 when a group of educational entrepreneurs dares to manufacture computers in Brazil amidst a scenario shaped by unexpected and successive obstacles. An opportunity window opens in the country and it is seen with pioneering spirit by them: the demand for personal computers. Thus, a genuinely Brazilian technology brand emerges. Positivo Informática appears, which, in 2017 changes its name to Positivo Tecnologia.

The growth

For more than two decades, the focus on computing was the way to break down the barriers, conquer the market and reach millions of Brazilian homes. At that moment, the company deepens its knowledge about the Brazilian consumers - their habits, needs and desires - a natural and valuable closeness. From the schools to the Brazilian families’ homes, its products represent the most current technological devices that everyone can and wants to buy.

The dynamic and versatile personality, combined with solid values in ethics and respect, bring it to the moment the Company lives today: business diversification. The portfolio includes computers, cell phones, servers, tablets, accessories, solutions for smart homes and offices, as well as educational technologies.

Geographic expansion: the international performance included the export of educational technology until 2010. It was when taking devices to other countries became viable and, with enthusiasm and determination, the company began to expand its operations to other countries. It has presence in Argentina, Rwanda, Kenya, China and Taiwan.


Brands and businesses: technology, innovation, agility and adaptation to specifically reach market and public. Carefully designed for distinct kind of consumption, the brands and business areas Positivo, Vaio, Compaq, Positivo Casa Inteligente, Anker, 2 A.M., Positivo Servers & Solutions, Quantum and Educacional, as well as Positivo BGH – our joint venture in Argentina, carry the success and entrepreneurship story that foresees a trajectory of expansion and diversification. The breadth of solutions and business segments guarantees the status of a multi-brand company, and makes it possible to work with the portfolio complementarity to meet all customer profiles.
